Ira's practice primarily revolves around complex contract, real estate, construction and insurance coverage litigation for business and real estate clients. Immediately after passing the Bar in 1981, Ira began trying complex commercial litigation cases under the tutelage of current Supreme Court Justice Ming Chin while at Aiken, Kramer & Cummings. He formed his own law office in 1985 with an additional focus on secured transactions, broker errors and omission and construction cases. Ira handled a variety of construction disputes for homeowners, builders, as well as many public entities during this time period. He joined Morgan, Miller & Blair in January of 1991, and played a primary role in the investigation and resolution of the "Blue Water" matter that plagued the building industry in 1990 through 1993. From 1991 through 2000 Ira represented many of the nation's largest residential and commercial builders in land use, contract, mechanic lien, construction defect and insurance coverage disputes.
With the turn of the millennium, Ira decided to reopen his own law offices in Orinda, California. His practice continues to specialize on the mediation and litigation of real estate, commercial and construction disputes.
Ira is a member of the Home Builders Association of Northern California and the Associated General Contractors of California. He is the past chair of the Case Management Committee of the Construction Defect Coalition for northern California. He is also active in both the Contra Costa and Alameda County Bar Associations as a mediator for complex real estate construction and insurance matters. Ira's practice has specialized in these areas for over 23 years after having received his law degree from the University of San Francisco School of Law. Ira and his wife are long time residents of Orinda.
